The latest Insurgency Sandstorm patch has affected the way older mods are installed on servers.

Please follow the steps below to successfully add mods to your server.

  1. Create a new mod.io account, as older accounts are no longer compatible. This step is essential to ensure everything works correctly.

  2. Open your Insurgency Sandstorm game panel and select the Mod.io Security Code script. Enter the email address linked to your new mod.io account and click Execute. You will then receive an email with your security code.

  3. Navigate to the command line section and create a new custom command line.

Be sure to check the box for Security Code, then paste the security code from the email you received.

  4. Visit mod.io and subscribe to all the mods you want to install on your server using your new mod.io account. Make sure to note each mod's mutators and add them to your custom command line as well.

  5. On the mod.io website, click your account logo in the lower-left corner and select API Access. Under OAuth Access, find Client Name: games-254.

Generate a new token by entering a token name of your choice. Change the scope from Read+Write to Read only, then click the plus sign. A new token will appear below—copy it to your clipboard.

Next, go to your Insurgency Sandstorm game panel, open the GameUserSettings.ini file in Game Panel Configuration Files, and paste your token after AccessToken=, and save the file.

  6. Start your server and wait a few minutes. Then, using the Game Panel File Manager, go to Insurgency → mod.io → 254 → mods and check if the mod folders have been downloaded.

If any mods are missing, return to your custom command line, set the Security Code to none, and restart the server.
