This guide will tell you how to wipe your Duckside server

1) Become Admin first: "Click here"

Wipe settings can be set in the Admin panel by pressing F10, and look for the  “Wipes“ section:

The image above shows wipe settings for the following wipe cycle:

  1. Every Friday, starting on the 9th of August 2024, there will be a map wipe
  2. Every 4th Friday there will be a map+blueprints wipe.

Detailed settings description:

Start date (required) - the start date from which all future wipes will be calculated. In the dd.mm.yyyy format.

Wipe Time (required) - at what time wipes happen. It must be UTC and in the hh.mm format.

Default duration (required) - the duration of the wipe cycle. It can be set in different formats with or without combining weeks, days, hours, and minutes.

Examples:

• “1w 2d 3h 4m” - the fullest example, means the duration is one week, two days, three hours, and four minutes.

• “3d” - means the duration is three days so wipes will happen every three days.

• “48h”, “1d 20m”, and other combinations.

Start counter (required, min. value - 1) - from which number all future wipes will happen. See the “Rules“ parameter description for a better understanding.

Current counter (required, min. value - 1) - number for the next wipe. See the “Rules“ parameter description for a better understanding.

Rules (required, at least 1 rule) - when and what happens on a wipe.

Counter divider (required, min. value - 1) - describes when a rule must be applied. The rule is applied if a wipe settings' Current Counter is divisible by a rule’s Counter divider without remainder.

Examples:

• Current Counter is 1, 2, 3, 4 - a rule with Counter divider is 1 will be applied on every wipe (as all “1, 2, 3, 4” values are divisible by 1 without remainder)

• Current Counter is 1, 2, 3, 4 - a rule with Counter divider is 4 will be applied on every 4th wipe (as only the “4” value is divisible by 4 without remainder)

• Actions (optional) - describe what must happen on a wipe (map-only wipe, map+blueprints wipe, …). If more than one rule is applied on a wipe, their actions are merged and performed together.

• Override duration (optional) - allows overriding wipe settings' Default Duration. It’s useful if a rule must happen at a different time. See “Example: two-days wipe settings“ for a better understanding.

The “Save settings“ button saves wipe settings if they are valid.
The “Wipes info“ panel shows information about the last wipes (if they happened) and about the next wipes (if wipe settings are valid and the next wipes can be calculated).

Example: two-day wipe settings:

The image above shows wipe settings for the following wipe cycle:

  1. Every Monday, starting on the 12th of August 2024, there will be a map wipe

  2. Every Friday, in the same week, starting on the 16th of August 2024, there will be a map wipe too.
    It’s achieved by the following:

The Default duration is 3 days. It gives us a 3-day wipe cycle, but the second rule sets the Override duration as 4d and the Counter divider as 2, so the rule is applied every 2nd wipe, 3 days after the 1st rule. 3 days is the amount of time between Monday and Friday. The default duration + the second rule’s Override duration (3 days + 4 days) gives us a week.

  3. Every 4th Friday there will be a map+blueprints wipe. Rule’s counter divider is 8 because there are 2 wipes per week and we want map+BPs wipe every 4th week so 2 x 4 = 8.
