Upload custom world to your Palworld server

Step 1:

Log into your "game panel".
(Make sure that you have updated the server to the latest version or use the STEAM UPDATE from the game panel)

• Start the server so it will generate the "0" folder.
• Stop the server after you started it so you can proceed with the steps below

Step 2:

Use FTP for migrating your custom world.
"Click here" for the FTP Guide.

You can also use the "Upload" button from the File Manager or just Drag & Drop your file.
Make sure it is a zip file, as the Game Panel has a maximum size limit for uploads.

Step 3:

Go to this location on your PC:
C:\Users\<PCUserNameHere\AppData\Local\Pal\Saved\SaveGames\<SteamID64Here>\<WorldIDHere>\

The correct path folder should include the following files in the image, especially the Level.sav

To find this quickly, use the "Date Modified" in your File Explorer and look for the recent folders.

You can also click the Folder icon in-game when you click the Start Game for local world.

Step 4:

Open the following path from your server's File Manager via FTP or just the game panel:
Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0/<WorldIDHere>/

Copy the "backup folder," "players folder," "Level.sav"and "LevelMeta.sav" from your local files to your server.
Make sure that you removed all the contents of the folder to avoid a save file conflict.

If you don't want to use FTP, follow the steps from this image.

Step 5:

Start the server for the changes to be applied.

WARNING!
If you include the "LocalData.sav" and the "WorldOption.sav" in the File Manager, your server cannot be seen in the server list if you type the server name in the community, but you can still join via direct IP.

Having "WorldOption.sav" in your server will override the server settings from your game panel as well.

However, removing the "Localdata.sav" & "WorldOption.sav" from your uploaded files will fix the issue when searching via Server name.

(NOTE: Characters that come from single-player world cannot be migrated to a dedicated server world.)

This means that your world buildings will be uploaded but not your character progress due to the gaming system's anti-cheat features.

However, if the character was created on one dedicated server and subsequently migrated to another dedicated server, the progress can be transferred.

Tips if you can't upload your character data and want to have advantage quickly:

• Create a storage box with items from your local data before uploading your local world.

• Make sure to hide it from your friends or let them know the location

• Put a password if necessary, retrieve the items and enjoy
